Lift off from the Wellington central city airport, and fly East, up and over the Remutaka Range, and out over the dramatic Palliser Bay.

You will touchdown on the rolling front lawn of Wharekauhau Country Estate, where you are greeted by a glass of Champagne.

Enjoy a relaxing multi-course lunch at the lodge, before flying back over the mountain divide and returning to the central city.

General Booking Information ::

  • The lodge will require the full names and approximate weights (For helicopter loading purposes), and dietary requirements of all members of the party prior to confirming the helicopter

 

Seatings ::

  • Seating start from 12 noon, with the last seating option to start lunch is at 1:30pm.

 

Mid-Week Openings ::

  • Should you have a party of 10 persons or more on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays we will open the restaurant.

 

Public Holidays ::

  • A 15% surcharge will apply to all Day Guests final bills for food, beverage and any guided experiences




 Being a small property in a rather remote part of New Zealand we ask that you please pre-advise us of any dietary requirements or food allergies that we can alert our kitchen and restaurant to. 

  For vegetarian, pescatarian, and guests with sensitivities to lactose or gluten, please ensure to note these requirements when making your booking. We require at least 48 hours to accommodate these restrictions.

For those who prefer a plant-based menu we do have this option available, however we do require at least 5 day’s notice

 Please understand that we do our absolute best to cater for these requests.

'Special Gifts for Guests'

Parties of 10 or larger will be required to be in a private dining room

Private dining rooms can be booked and where possible guaranteed in advance for a charge of $250

Please ensure your party are dressed in smart casual attire befitting of one of the worlds best luxury lodges. We also ask guests to be conscious of our in-house guests that may be around the lodge during the dining experience.

We do suggest that when boarding your helicopter hats/caps and any loose items are held in hand.

Our preferred helicopter partner is Wellington Helicopters who are located in central Wellington at Queens Wharf - Shed 6 Queens Wharf, Wellington 

Please be at the Queens Wharf helipad 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time to run through safety briefings and ensure an onetime departure

Upon arrival at Wharekauhau the pilot will land, shut down his engines, and you will be met and escort up the lawn and to the main lodge.


Weather Imposed :: 

No charge for changes that mean the helicopter cannot fly. We will work with you to try find an alternative date


Guest Imposed :: 

If a guest cancels or reduces their numbers within 48 hours before the day of the flight there is a 100% charge for the reduction/cancelation.
