The front lawn is regarded as Wharekauhau’s helipad.

Protocol

• Please contact lodge for a landing map should one be required.
• Lodge must be advised prior to any landings or take-offs.

Wharekauhau Airstrip

GPS co-ordinates available on request.

• 850 metre long grass strip
• 12NM east of Wellington International Airport, separated from the airport by the Rimutaka Range
• 17NM south of the Kaitoke glider aerodrome
• Two-way runway
• There are no obstructions
• Runway is flat, undulating on the North western end
