Wharekauhau offers a range of options for casual dining experiences. Some, such as the long lunch, are year round. However, we also provide a series of seasonal casual dining experiences. Our Executive Chef, Marc Soper, enjoys cooking fresh produce from the land and will guarantee to surprise and delight your taste buds with his natural culinary skill.

Relax and enjoy a true destination dining day out. After lunch feel free to stroll the expansive gardens, or relax by an open fire. Please note only one final account per table, unless pre-arranged. This is subject to our availability.

As much as we dislike admitting it, when it comes to food, the chef does know best, and we trust his knowledge!. The talented team in the kitchen create a 5 course degustation-style tasting menu each day, (5 course set menu, with 3x options for main course), that focuses on the key regional and estate grown ingredients. After lunch, relax by the open log fire or explore the gardens that grow much of the menu produce.

If you have any special dietary requirements, feel free to discuss them when you make a booking. This is subject to our availability.

Price $135 per person ($145 with a welcome glass of sparkling wine). Bookings essential.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled less than 48 hours out will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of booking.

Seatings start from 12 noon 

Should you have a party of 10 persons or more on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays we will open the restaurant.
