The sun-cream and dark glasses are starting to make appearances….Hay is being baled on the farm….A chef has just wheeled a BBQ passed me….The Rose is on ice…. The guides are looking a little sun-kissed….The lodge Christmas tree is up and sparkling in the lounge! – ANOTHER CLASSIC KIWI SUMMER IS HERE!
It seems as if the Spring months have just flown by and we are now charging towards another classic Wairarapa summer filled with sun. The last few months here at the lodge have been a particularly busy period, with everything from the famous Toast Martinborough food and wine festival, and Wharekauhau’s Louis Roederer weekend, through to hosting visiting royal families, and crafting some amazing, unique getaways.
Lodge Executive Chef, Marc Soper, won the prestigious ‘?ra King salmon Dish of the Year’ with his beautifully crafted dish (details below for those that wish to create at home). Marc has also been busy with a number of demonstrations and cooking classes with interest in what he and the kitchen team are doing running high amongst guests.
