We are also very proud of our recent ‘family’ achievements. Executive Chef, Marc Soper, was awarded the Chef of the Nation award and Chef of the Capital award by the New Zealand Culinary Institute. General Manager Richard Rooney has just been nominated by the prestigious HM awards in Australia as New Zealand’s leading General Manager. Our Sous Chef, Kirissi Filipo, won Best Lunch Dish in the New Zealand vegetarian dish awards.
Additionally, we are VERY proud to announce that Wharekauhau Country Estate was unanimously voted into the globally recognised Relais & Chateaux hotel association. This is truly something that captures what we, as a property, are all about – great food that is locally and sustainably sourced, fantastic wines that tell a story, and superb accommodations that capture your heart through detail, passion and uniqueness!
