Flying in over the jagged and vast Remutaka Ranges and swooping in over Palliser Bay, finally touching down at Wharekauhau is an amazing aviation experience, so why not share this with fellow pilots and aviation fans. Wharekauhau will have its airstrip open and ready for landing for its first ever fixed-wing Fly-in lunch. Those wishing to attend will all share the commonality of having arrived via aircraft, as this lunch will be exclusively for those flying in and out of the estate, open to fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters arrivals only.
$155 per person
Transfers from airstrip to lodge (5 minutes)
5 course degustation, communal tables
Beverages will be an additional cost.
Attendee maximum 40 persons.
Landings to be scheduled between 1130am and 1215pm. Lunch to commence at 1230pm.
As many of you know we are at the mercy of the elements here on the coast so we will schedule a final weather call will be made 24 hours to the event, with a back-up day scheduled for Saturday, 13 February 2021
Wharekauhau operates a grass airstrip capable of landing small aircraft such as Cessna 182, through to Cessna 208 Caravans. A windsock sits at the Southern end of the strip. For more detailed information please reach out directly to Richard at the lodge via [email protected]
